About the Chairman

Brian Skon was the Co-Chair of the USS Minnesota SSN 783 Commissioning Committee in 2012 and 2013.  He was also the President of the Minnesota Navy League from 2012 to 2018.

Brian & Peggy Skon are the proud parents of two US Navy Sailors.  

Their daughter is based on the East Coast at Naval Station Norfolk.  She has deployed on board USS Harry S Truman CVN 75 in 2018 and will soon be attending Quartermaster A School at Naval Station Great Lakes.  

Their son is based at Naval Station Kitsap - Bremerton Naval Shipyard west of Seattle.  He will deploy on USS John C Stennis CVN 74 in October 2018 on a 'round the world' tour and home port change.  The deployment ends at Naval Station Norfolk the spring of 2019.

Peggy was the 2014 Minnesota VFW Teacher of the Year for her support of deployed parents, the commissioning of USS Minnesota, and our Naval Sea Cadet program.
