In July 2019 the United States Navy announced that (future) USS Minneapolis Saint Paul LCS 21 will commission in the Port of Duluth.
We're thrilled with this decision!
The US Navy will announce date of the commissioning ceremony about three months prior to the event. We anticipate this announcement will be made in July 2020.

100% of funds raised support the USS Minneapolis Saint Paul Commissioning events. Now that we know the commissioning ceremony will take place in the Port of Duluth, 100% of your sponsor funds will stay in Minnesota and go to home town vendors.

This shipyard is the only inland yard to build warships for the US Navy.
Future USS Minneapolis Saint Paul LCS 21 is estimated to launch Summer 2019, with commissioning the first half of 2020.
Freedom-class warships are launched sideways into the river right after the Ships Sponsor breaks the ceremonial bottle of champagne against the hull. This officially names the ship.
There are three official ceremonies bringing a ship into the fleet.
On February 22, 2018 history was made as the Keel Authentication Ceremony took place. Our Ships Sponsor Jodi Greene declared the 'keel truly and fairly laid.' This is an official picture of the event!
In 2012 and 2013 we were the USS Minnesota Commissioning Committee, raising $330,000 to support the commissioning of the Virginia-class Fast Attack Submarine USS Minnesota SSN 783.
